The Splitgate crossplay exploratory is so popular the developers had to take information technology offline

The free-to-play "Portal meets Halo" FPS Splitgate has been about on PC for a span of years now, during which time IT's struggled to maintain a histrion imitative. "We worn-out complete night optimizing more but after speaking to AWS [Amazon Web Services], we learned our database (redis) can only handle 65,536 synchronous players (what we hit last night)," 1047 tweeted. "So zero optimizations matter yet. We are working on a queue organization to Lashkar-e-Tayyiba 65k ppl in until we remove this restriction."

Naturally, a large chunk of this sudden uptick in take is driven by comfort players, but Steamer is seeing a major spike in action too: Steam Charts says that at this moment, to a higher degree 8,400 people are playacting the game, a vast jump in demand. The many long-term question is whether Splitgate can maintain these numbers after the full console launch on July 27.
